Cinnamon Swirl Log
This is an easy bread. One morning I was in the mood for cinnamon rolls. Looking in my refrigerator and using what was there. I created this recipe.
you will need:
1 tube Pillsbury pizza dough
1/4 cup of Honey spread (I used Country Crock)
1/3 cup light brown sugar
1-1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon(I use Korintje from Pampered Chef)
I also cooked it on a bread stone. In a preheated 400 degree Fahrenheit.
Unroll the pizza dough on bread stone. roll lightly to form a rectangle.
spread the honey spread on top...Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle on spread. Roll the dough starting at the long side. Pinch seam...Place seam side down on stone. Make 5 slits on top with knife. brush top with honey spread.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown on top and light brown on bottom. let cool a few minute( trust me, don't try to cut it right out of the oven. It is way too hot to eat.). cut into pieces. Enjoy.

I really like the sound of this...now I have to find pizza dough!!!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds divine and I'm going to try it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWell that sounds and looks delicious Auntie E and very clever.
ReplyDeleteHi allotments4you.com, you can easily make pizza dough yourself, this is going to be healthier too:
ReplyDeleteMix 450 g flour, 200-280 ml water, 3-4 tbsp. olive oil, 1 tsp. each salt and black pepper and 1 packet yeast (for 500g flour). Work all that through for 10-15 minutes until the dough is stretchable and doesn't stick any more. Place it in a large bowl, cover it with a damp cloth and allow the dough to rise in a warm place. This will take about 45-60 min.
If it's not warm enough in the room, you can also put the dough in the oven (50°). It's not really getting hot in there but rather use oven-safe bowls or a large pot.
