Coffee Time: Kids and School.

Good morning Friends. Have that coffee near by? I am having Folgers Black Silk with a little Tiramisu coffee-mate. Today's topic Kids and School.
I woke up this morning to Snow. School was delayed 2 hours(somehow I knew it would be). My teen knew about it before I did..not a surprise. She stated, woke up at 5:45 and checked her e-mail. Oh yes she is signed up for School's out. This program will let you know if school is out or delayed. I get the message on my Blackberry. Anyway, since school is delayed think I can get her up for some breakfast? Well if the smell of her favorite pancakes(Dee's buttermilk with chocolate chip)and Bacon wont do it, not sure what will. I prefer the delays to no school, How about you?

Around theTable- Cooking Meals.

So are you baked out? all that holiday baking and cooking has me tired out. I will be getting back to the normal cooking now. Oh yes there are other holidays coming up. However the December ones are so much more entailed. It last for about a whole month and one needs to cook something at least each day to stay on top of things. Glad that Month is over, had fun though.
Sunday I cooked Baked Lemon Pepper Chicken, Red skins Mashed Potatoes , and Brussels spouts. That was lunch, then for dinner, daughter wanted pizza. I used French bread dough and rolled it out, brushed olive oil on it, top it with pizza sauce, Sweet Capocorro and Mozzarella cheese. A little healthier and easier. I have a ham for today, haven't decided how to cook it yet, Hawaiian style, German or American version. We will have carrots with it and some sort of potato.
What on your table for today or this week?

Artichoke Bake Canape

While living in Viahingen Germany. A friend of ours, Chairman of American Red Cross, made a canape bake my hubby loved. for years I have made it during the New Year celebration. this year I will make it, however it will be healthier.

Healthier Artichoke Baked Canape

1 can (14oz) Artichoke Hearts, drained and chopped.
1 cup olive oil mayo
1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon of Garlic powder

mix all ingredients together, put in a slightly greased 1 quart canape dish. bake at 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for 20 minutes. Serve warm with crackers. I put it on a chaffing dish to keep warm.
